Synopsis
This collection of short stories is actually a remake of the short story collection Lelaki yang Membelah Bulan which was published in 2009. Republished by Kanisius publisher with the addition of 7 other short stories. The short stories in this collection of short stories are more of an inner reflection on the phenomena of humanity that occur and are set out in simple stories. The reader is invited to enter an infinite ‘other’ world and is invited to dare to face his mind and other sides of himself. An experience of space and time that will take the reader to pause to ask himself about the meaning of life itself. Some of his short stories were nominated for short stories by Kompas Daily 2010 (Rongga), Nominated for Short Story Kompas Daily Choices 2012 (Tear Hunters), Nominated Short Stories Kompas Daily 2013 (Summoning Angels). Nominated Short Story Kompas Daily 2014 (City without Words and Tears). The short story “A Morning and a Dead Man”, made into an animated film short with the title Moreindo and was selected as a film the best choice of media in the XXI Year Short Film Competition Short story “The Man Who Splits the Moon” adapted into choreography contemporary dance by dancer Jane Chen and Dek Gek (Dancer Ilagaligo) at GEOK, Bali on 19-20 November 2010.
About The Author
Noviana Kusumawardhani was born on 2 November 1967. She devoted previous 15 years of her career as TV Producer, senior copywriter, and creative director to multinational advertising agencies, such as Grey Jakarta, Dentsu Young Rubicam, Leoburnett Jakarta, and BBDO Indonesia. With her passion and dedication, her creative ideas had won her both national and international awards. As writer, her short story regularly published at national publishing such as Kompas Newspaper and Femina, also other writing at Addiction, Cakram, and Soap Magazine. With her Balinese writer friends, she published Poem Anthology “Keranda Emas” (Golden Coffin). She published her first book of short story anthology “Lelaki yang Membelah Bulan” (A Man Who Slice the Moon) in June 2011 and her short story “Rongga” (Hole) selected as one of the best short story in 2010 Selected Short-Stories by Kompas Newspaper and published as a book in July 2011 called KUMPULAN CERPEN TERBAIK KOMPAS 2010 “Dodolidodolibret” with other 18 Top Writers in Indonesia. Some of his short stories which also nominated for short stories by Kompas Daily Nominated for Short Story Kompas Daily Choices 2012 (Tear Hunters) Nominated Short Stories Kompas Daily 2013 (Summoning Angels). Nominated Short Story Kompas Daily 2014 (City without Words and Tears). The short story “A Morning and a Dead Man”, made into an animated film short with the title MORIENDO and was selected as a film the best choice of media in the XXI Year Short Film Competition 2012. She is a Senior Teacher and Trainer at Cinta Bahasa Indonesian Language School and well-known also as Tarot Reader which already ready more than 15 thousand people all over the world since 2010 (www.tarotbali.com).
